- Start, finish and post
race festivities take place at the Lakeside Pizzeria (formerly the
Dodge Inn), 227 Lake
Louise Marie Rd., Rock Hill,
NY.
- Official start is 10
am. Early runner start is 9:30 am (finishing in 2 hours 30
minutes and slower – see home page for “the spirit of the early start”
rules). Early walker start is 8:30 am. Registration opens
at 8am.
- Water and Gatorade will
be placed on the course at the following miles (approximate):
1.5, 3, 5, 7, 8.5, 10, 11.5, and the finish (approximately every 1.5 to
2 miles).
- Gels will be
handed out at approximately mile 8
- The course is open to
traffic and all turns will be manned by at least one course marshall
controlling traffic and directing runners. All turns will also be
marked with a yellow arrow on the ground. The police and
ambulance will be on hand for your safety.
- Water stops are manned by
3-4 people each (every 1.5 to 2 miles).
- Mile timers will be
providing times at each mile (1 thru 12). Miles will be marked on
the road in yellow paint as well as with a stand-up mile marker.
- There is a door prize
drawing for pre-registered runners only (deadline for these door prizes
is Thursday evening before race day at 6pm). The winners will be
drawn from a pool randomly and assigned a door prize. Signs are
made and displayed at each mile on the course so be sure to look for
your name if you are pre-registered by this deadline! These
prizes may be picked up from the race director at completion of the
race. Runners must not be present to claim these prizes and if
you cannot make the race but have pre-registered and win, or if you
have to leave early, prizes will be mailed the week after the race.
- Other door prizes will be
raffled off after the race during the ceremony. For these, all
are eligible (except if you have already won a mile prize) and winners
must be present to win.
- Awards will be presented
to top 3 overall male and female, top 3 overall cancer survivors male
and female, top 3 walkers overall, and top 3 male and female in the
following age groups: 16 and under, 17-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49,
50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. The only duplicate awards are
cancer survivors.
- Bagels, bananas and
coffee will be provided at the start of the race. At the finish,
a meal will be served. This has been baked ziti, pizza and/or
chili, depending on the year. The Lakeside Pizzeria has a fully
stocked bar for anyone interested (drinks are on your own (cash bar),
food is provided by volunteers and/or sponsors).
- Babysitting is provided.
Please try to notify race director(s) ahead of time if you plan to
bring your children. A few small activities will be provided for
their entertainment so you can enjoy your race! Please pick up
your children at the completion of your run.
- There will be a porta-potty
available at mile 1.5, 8 & 11.5 (all the same location - you
pass it three times)
